  • I'm Awake!

Sorry about not having a post up earlier. I wanted to lay down for only a few minutes, but ended up falling asleep. I was tired when I got home yesterday.

Yesterday my boyfriend, my mom and I went out. We went into town for my boyfriend to get his check, put it in the bank, get my dad something to eat and then come home to give my dad his food. Then, we went out again, this time to Middletown. The Sharp Shopper is there and that's the closest one to us. It's a grocery store and we like to go there because they have some seriously great deals on food.

After that, we went to Wal-mart for my boyfriend to get a computer chair. He bought one for around $35 and it's a pretty nice one. He's happy with it. After going to Wal-mart we met some friends and went to a restaurant called The Soda Jerk. It's a nice place and they have good food. I got a taco salad wrap with fries and for desert, I got Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, which is my favorite.

Although it was a busy night, it was a nice night and I enjoyed myself.

We came home and watched Ghost Adventures. My boyfriend played the Wii for a while and then we decided to lay down for a few minutes and fell asleep.

But now I'm up and writing a post. Since my last update, I've written two more poems about Dragons. I have three in total now and I will submitting them soon. I'm excited and being positive one of them will be selected.

I don't really have any plans for this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll be doing anything. I know I want to finish reading Beyond the Pond and start reading book 9 of The Last Apprentice series.

I hope you all will have a nice weekend.

  • Super Mario 3D Land

(image found on Google image search)

For Christmas from my boyfriend, I got a 3DS with some games. Super Mario 3D Land was one of the games. I began playing it on Christmas day and finally finished it a few days ago. I finished the main part of the game quite a while ago, but once you beat it, there is a bonus special world. After you go through a few levels, you can save Luigi and then play as him if you wish. That is what I did and I began going through the bonus special world.

The bonus special world isn't easy and the further you go, the harder it gets. I won't deny that at times I became very frustrated after dying countless times. But I didn't give up and I finally made it the whole way through the special world a few days ago, beating the game on the special world. I would have beat the game sooner, but I've been busy with other stuff so I didn't have time to finish it right away.

In the game, it is the usual story where Mario has to save Princess Peach. It's not much of a story really, but the gameplay is just great. It's fun and even when it was frustrating and I had to quit for a bit, I found myself going back to it again and again. It's a great platformer, very addicting and challenging. I loved it.

  • The Giveaway Is Over

The Dreamcatcher giveaway ended and the winner was announced on my store's facebook page. The Dreamcatcher that was given away was only a small one. A 2 inch hoop. I will be doing another giveaway sometime in the future. I'm thinking of maybe doing it sometime over the summer. I'll giveaway a Dreamcatcher that is a little bigger next time.

Just wanted to let you all know I will be doing another giveaway eventually so you all can watch for it. I have a few other ideas for my store that I might reveal soon. If you want to keep up to date on my store, you can like the facebook page and watch the updates on there. I announce different things that are going on with my store as well as show new items that have been added. You can find Tsalagi Dreams facebook page here

Right now I am making another Dreamcatcher. I want to try out a different style web on this one. I'll make sure to post some pictures once it's finished.

And I want to thank anyone that entered the giveaway. I was really excited to do a giveaway for my store and I'm looking forward to the next one. I hope everyone else is too.

  • DVDs, Books And Other Stuff

I got home late, at around 12am. I had to finish delivering the newspapers and the company didn't have them done until later. I also had some places I had to go before they closed. So, that's why I was later than usual getting the newspapers delivered.

Even though I saw Wreck-It Ralph when it was in the movie theater, I rented it on DVD to watch it again. I really love the movie. It's great and I am looking forward to the sequel. I also borrowed Father Dowling Mysteries season 1 and Murder, She Wrote season 8 from the library. Right now I am watching Father Dowling Mysteries. I used to watch both of these shows as a kid and loved them. It is nice to be able to revisit them and watch all the episodes.

Right now I am reading Beyond The Pond, which is the book I won from the goodreads and I am really enjoying it so far. I'm also reading I Luv Halloween volume 1, which is a graphic novel I've wanted to read for a few years. The library finally got it so I borrowed it. I also got book number 9 in The Last Apprentice series and I can't wait to start reading it.

There is a new show coming on this Sunday at 10pm. It's called Monsters and Mysteries in America, it's on the channel Destination America. I'm looking forward to watching it. I like shows about strange creatures.

The Dreamcatcher giveaway has also ended. You'll find the winner announced on my store's facebook page. I will probably do another giveaway sometime in the future.

I've been writing. Still working on another Dragon poem. I've written most of it, but just have to think of an ending for it. I wrote another poem about a day or so ago. It didn't have to do with Dragons though. It's just something that came to me and I wrote it down. I'll be submitting the Dragon poems soon though.

Well, I guess that's all I have to write for now. I hope everyone is having a nice week so far.

  • Book Recommendations: Destiny, Rewritten

    Destiny, Rewritten

    Book: Destiny, Rewritten

    Author: Kathryn Fitzmaurice

Original Publication Date: February 19, 2013

    Pages: 176

Emily is 11 and her whole life she's been told it's her destiny to become a poet, just like Emily Dickinson, who she is named after. However, Emily doesn't like writing poetry and has another career in mind. She's not quite sure how to tell her mom yet though, since her mom is so intent on being a poet is her destiny.

But one day, by accident Emily loses the copy of Emily Dickinson's poems that were given to her when she was born. Something very important is in that book and now that she's lost it, she may never know. Emily has to find that book and somehow, change her destiny.

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway and I thought this book had an interesting story, dealing with destiny and all. Emily doesn't really believe what her mother says about destiny, but she learns about it on her own and finds the meaning for herself. Who controls your destiny? That is what Emily really wants to know. Is it pre-planned, or does a person have the power to change their own destiny?

The book gives you something to think. It's also just a nice story, with enjoyable characters and a very happy ending, which I liked very much.

  • So. . .

Yesterday was apparently Saint Patrick's Day and I didn't realize it. Happy (late) Saint Patrick's Day to everyone.

I will give a little history on Saint Patrick, since yesterday was his day.

(image found on Google image search)

Saint Patrick was born in 387 in Roman Britain. At about 16, he was captured and taken as a slave to Ireland. He lived there for about 6 years before he escaped and went back to his family. But while he was a slave, his faith grew and a voice had told him that he would go home soon. Shortly after returning home, Patrick had a vision of a man. This man carried letters and handed him one which read "The Voice of the Irish." And with this vision, he heard the voice of the Irish people calling to him to come and walk among them once more. Eventually he returned to Ireland after becoming an ordained bishop.  He preached the gospel for 40 years and worked many miracles. Saint Patrick died March 17, 461.

This is only the basics of Saint Patrick's life. I would recommend learning more about this Saint. There is more to his story, including many legends.

Although he wasn't born in Ireland, he is Ireland's patron Saint. I hope you all enjoyed this post and had a nice Saint Patrick's Day.

  • Willow Wood Dreamcatcher

This is the Dreamcatcher I finished a few days ago. The whole is made of willow wood, the web is sinew, colorful glass beads were used, brown feathers and light brown soft leather at the top so it can be hung on the wall.

I really like this one. I've made wooden Dreamcatchers before, but this one is smaller than the others. I soaked the wood in water so I could make some smaller ones.

If you want to see what items I have for sale on my store currently, here is the link: http://tsalagi_phoenix.webstore.com

You can also follow my store on facebook. Just type in Tsalagi Dreams and it should come up.

  • Random Stuff

I have a lot that I've been thinking about the past few days. Some of these things might turn into posts eventually. We'll see.

Well, I finished a poem about Dragons and I'm writing on another. I'd like to have at least three to submit to the online magazine. I really like the first one I've written. I think it's quite nice and children would enjoy it.

I'm now reading book 8 in The Last Apprentice series. I really do love this series. I think it's quite wonderful and I highly recommend it. I am trying to catch and read all the books that are currently out. The newest book will be out this year sometime and so I want to read the other books before the newest is out. I think sometime in the future I will do a post about the book series. I've also just put a hold on the next two books in the series.

Not too long ago I was watching The Mighty Boosh on Adult Swim. It's a great show and I honestly wish they'd make another season, but I don't think they will. Season three came out in 2007 and there hasn't been a new season since. It's too bad though, the show is very funny and one of my favorites.

I finished the Dreamcatcher I was making. I will try to take a picture today and maybe post it on Sunday for you all to see.

I don't really have any plans for this weekend. I will probably be staying home. Just reading and writing this weekend for me, most likely. I will probably work on some crafts too. I have a pair of earrings that I need to finish and then decide what I should make next.

Well, I'm not sure what else to write. I hope everyone has good weekend.

I thought I'd share some funny pictures today. Hope you all enjoy these :)
