  • Good And Evil

I've read about what happened in Boston. I just know from what I've read on here as I don't really watch or read the news online all that much. But when things like this happen, it's always sad. How can someone hurt another human? How is that even possible? I will never be able to understand it because I could never hurt a human, or any living being, for that matter.

But I always try to be positive, even when bad things happen. It can be hard sometimes and I will admit, I've definitely been disappointed in humanity. There is good and evil in this world, but I like to believe there is more good than evil. I also don't think that anyone is born evil, or bad.
Everyone has things happen to them in their life as a child, teenager and adult that shape who they are. Especially as a child. What happens to you as a child can shape who you are as a person. I just think these people who harm others, themselves have been harmed in some way at some point in their life. It doesn't excuse their actions though. People know right from wrong, but who knows what has happened to those people? Whatever event happened to their life to shape them into something not very good.
I think it is sad all around, for the victims and those who do the harming. It is something they will have to live with here and in the afterlife.
But even with all the tragedies, evil and bad people in the world, I just can't believe that people or the world is mostly evil. It sometimes may seem that way, but I don't think it is the case. I think in times like this it is important to look for good and be grateful for the good in your life and the people who love you.
So I  am going to list some good in my life.
I am thankful for my friends on Xanga. Although I have had some bad experiences and there are some not very nice people on here, I know the majority of the users are good.
My boyfriend, who I've been with for 7 wonderful years.
    And my silly little hamsters.
Feel free to list some good stuff in your life as well.

  • I'm thankful for my partner, my family being healthy, my friends and their families likewise, our two furry friends, having our own home, having a job I enjoy, living in a nice town in a nice part of the country.

  • @holeinyoursoul - Great list. Thanks for sharing it.

  • I made a two posts much like this. I feel much the same. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Dame_Delirium - I read your posts and I agree with you. Not many people feel share for those who do the horrible actions. I don't think what happens in a person's life should excuse them if they do something wrong, but I think it is important to try and understand why they are the way they are and know they weren't always like that. No one is born bad, but things happen that cause people to be that way. It seems that not many people care to think about that though. Thanks for the rec.

  • I agree. I also do not believe that the world is so evil, even though bad things happen.

Good thing in my life..? Right now..? A new flirtation that has the potential of being more :D

  • Osiyo,
I know for a fact the good does outnumber evil! It just that the news tends to show mostly bad things that happen. For the life of me I could never figure out why they do that?
Good things I can be thankful for are:
    My Wife
    Special Friends
A second chance at starting my life over (reference: being born again)
May The Great Spirit’s Blessings Always Be with You!
Nobody Special  _:^) “Robin” “Eyes open”

  • I am thankful for my boyfriend, my family, and my job. Many people aren't as fortunate to have these in their life. I definitely try to cherish them, and be thankful for what I have.
