  • Yard Sale Update

I thought I’d give everyone an update on how the yard sale went.

We did have more people come to the yard and definitely sold more items than last time. But even so, we were still disappointed. Not as much sold as we would have liked and while we did make more money than last time, it still wasn’t a lot. Especially when you consider how much work we’ve been doing and the fact we were outside for 8 hours.
I made a total of $9. I sold four books, three CDs and a Holiday Barbie doll set. My mom made around $25, I believe.
So, we are disappointed. My mom was hoping to sell quite a bit to make some money to pay some bills. I was hoping to make quite a bit of money to put more money back for my laptop and to also buy some things I need.
Well, some of the stuff I’m going to put up for sale on my store, Tsalagi Dreams. I’m going to add the Jewelry and Dreamcatchers I made for yard sale to the site as well. When I do, I’ll let you all know so you can see the new items.
There are a few positives though. One: a woman came by with two goats! They were so cute. I took some pictures, but haven’t uploaded them yet. When I do, I’ll post them for everyone to see. Two: I bought a Mario shirt from the neighbors for 50 cents! :)
Is everyone having a nice weekend so far? Did you do anything fun on Saturday?

  • Sorry the yard sale was a disappointment.  been busy out taking photos of th ecarnival on the other side of town.

  • Sorry the yard sale was a bummer on sales. Glad for the shirt you got and for the goats! I went to a movie and dinner with friends on Friday night…on Sat-Day I did errands, dog-bathing, went to a car show, and grilled some chicken and veggies for supper. Was a nice relaxing day!
    HUGS!!!

  • That didn’t go too well.  Bummer.

  • Sorry the sale didn’t go well. Maybe there was something else going on in town that kept people away? When we have a sale-if people aren’t buying we lower our prices–sometimes works–sometimes not.

  • I’ve been to some garage sales that I have more in my garage right now then they do. Maybe you didn’t have enough stuff? What you do is stock pile for a year and then have it.

  • Though not as great as you have liked, congrats on the little that you made. Something is better than nothing.

  • @jennylovve - Yeah, we’re happy to have made something.

@Texasjillcarmel - We had quite a bit of stuff.

@Maggietx1 - I don’t think there was anything else going on in town. I don’t know why me or the neighbors weren’t selling a lot, but it was definitely disappointing for us.

@C_L_O_G - Yeah. We’re going to put some of the stuff on Craigslist and see if it will sell that way. Thanks for the rec.
@Grannys_Place - That sounds like fun.

  • @Shining_Garnet - That is a good idea.

  • @Shining_Garnet - good luck, I have a booth at the antique mall with sister and business is slow.

If you could figure out what people will buy you’ve got it made!

  • The people here also had several yard sales, but since I’m broke until Wednesday, I did other, cheapo things.  Yesterday, it was Armed Forces Day, so I was at the American Legion Post for much of Saturday.  Today, we had a Cowboy breakfast by a lake and I hiked around a bit afterward.  Hope your other sales go better.
