This is a list of movies I’m looking forward to seeing this year.

Monsters University. I love Monsters Inc and I am really looking forward to this one. It comes out June 21.
Grown Ups 2. The first one is one of my favorite movies, I think it’s so funny. Grown Ups 2 releases July 12.
I’m not sure if anyone has heard of this one, but it’s called R.I.P.D. and it is about police officers who have died, but in the afterlife continue their work. Instead of going after criminals, they go after evil spirits. I’ve known about this movie for a few years and have been waiting for it to have a release date. It releases July 19.
The Seventh Son is a movie based off the first book in The Last Apprentice series. I’m not really happy with some of the things they’ve decided to do in the movie, but still looking forward to seeing it. It currently has no poster and releases October 18.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I’ve already read the book, so I’m ready for this. It releases November 22.
I wasn’t able to find a poster for it, but The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It is the movie I am most looking forward to this year. I loved the first one so much I went to see it in the theater twice. It releases December 13.
What movies are you looking forward to?

  • I too think the Monsters Inc will be fun, and also look forward to the next Hobbit movie. I think the whole LOTR/Hobbit franchise is wonderfully fantastic. I’m also interested in seeing World War Z. I had a friend from England who read the book and had been excited over it for ages, so I sort of want to go see what all the hype/excitement is about. Same with Ender’s game. I don’t like the look of the preview. I think I’ll be highly idsappointed, but I absolutely loved the book series and have been waited with baited breath for years for someone to pick that up and produce it. I need to see it just to know how badly they butcher it.

  • I want to see that catching fire pretty badly. Wow I am glad to hear it is coming out this year. We went to see the new Star trek movie and I loved it. I want to see that Brad Pit movie, World war Z, also Epic and Man of steel. I probably will have to wait for the redbox though for the last two. :)

  • I would like to see Monsters University, but I don’t think Hubby will go to the theater for an animated film. Maybe I’ll rent it when it’s available. We rented the most recent Arnold Schwarzenegger movie: The Last Stand. If you like him, you’ll like the movie. There was a high body count, but it wasn’t all that gory. The Corvette/Camaro chase through the cornfield was great, in a stupid kind of way.

  • The Purge came out a few days ago…I’d like to see that one, although I won’t assume it’ll be good since it seems to be a horror-type film. Also looking forward to City of Bones.

  • Good list!
I love the first Monsters, Inc…so I wanna’ see that one, too!
I’d like to see World War Z. It looks exciting!
    Also, Despicable Me 2.
    HUGS!!!

  • I’m looking forward to Man of Steel, and definitely the next Hobbit movie as well. I really enjoyed Monsters, Inc., so I’m definitely intrigued by the latest film in the series. Despicable Me 2 looks kind of interesting as well.

  • @making_a_comeback_05 - Despicable Me 2 looks good. I love the first one. Thanks for the rec.

@adamswomanback - Yes, Despicable Me 2 is another I’d like to see. My boyfriend really wants to see World War Z.

@whyzat - Well, if I lived there, I’d go and see Monsters University with you. I don’t mind going to the movie theater to see animated movies at all. And I will have to check out The Last Stand.
@Ikwa -  I’m looking forward to Catching Fire. I thought The Hunger Games movie was good.
@Crystalinne - Yes, The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings movies are just wonderful. I really love them. I’ve never read Ender’s Game, but I know it’s going to be turned into a movie. I think when a book gets turned into a movie it is usually always disappointing. There are always changes, but books to movies can be good even if they are a little disappointing. However, I do admit I am already disappointed with The Seventh Son (based on the first The Last Apprentice book). I don’t like the changes that I know of so far, but I’m still willing to go see the movie because of how much I love the books.

  • @Shining_Garnet - You’re very welcome. Despicable Me 2 definitely looks good. I haven’t even seen the first one yet, but I’d definitely like to see it someday.
